Our range of HevaSteam packaged plate heat exchangers are designed and manufactured to the latest standards and are fully compliant with the Pressure Equipment Directive.
HevaSteam Packages for Domestic Hot Water
The HevaSteam package design for domestic hot water systems, potable and process, consist of a standard range of equipment. Our systems offer full and comprehensive safety devices to cover most specificational requirements, suitable for NHS, chemical and process applications, in addition to traditional HVAC systems.
The Heat Exchanger:
The package is fitted with our APK range of heat exchangers as standard, with stainless steel AISI 316L plates and EPDM-STEAM gaskets as standard, with operating temperatures of up to 180 DegC.
Primary Steam Controls:
Our standard units are fitted block and bleed isolation valves with a proving valve. The package is fitted with fast acting control valves with electromagnetic actuators, operating with extremely high accuracy and speed, whilst giving close temperature control of the hot water. Each and every package is also fitted with a separate high limit valve with an electro-hydraulic actuator, with a spring return function to shut off the system on high temperature limit and power failure, ensuring complete safety of the secondary system.
Condensate Control:
The standard design of the HevaSteam unit consists of a condensate trap assembly, using high quality steam traps, each sized to suit the particular application. We recommend a maximum condensate back pressure of 5 metres / 0.5 BarG. Should the condensate back pressure be higher than this, or if the condensate destination be a distance away from the steam package, we would recommend the use of a condensate pump, either a steam pump integrated within the steam package, or an external condensate recovery unit. A condensate recovery unit can either be electrically powered (as our ACR units, please click here for further information) or a mechanically powered steam pump package.
Secondary Equipment:
There are a few options available for the secondary system side to ensure the best operation of the package. The equipment we may recommend being fitted can include secondary pumps, buffer vessels and secondary overheat protection kits

HevaSteam Packages for Process & Wash-Down Systems
The HevaSteam package design for process and wash-down devices to cover most specificational requirements, suitable for factories and other process driven applications. HVAC systems can also be integrated into the package where required using safe and compatible control systems.
The Heat Exchanger:
The package is fitted with our APK range of heat exchangers as standard, with stainless steel AISI 316L plates and EPDM-STEAM gaskets as standard, with operating temperatures of up to 180 DegC. We can also fit tubular heat exchangers along with plate & shell type exchangers.

The equipment we may recommend being fitted can include secondary shunt pumps, secondary system pumps and buffer vessels. Process domestic hot water systems can generally be designed to operate at higher temperatures than HevaSteam DHW packages so extra safety measures are taken within the design to ensure safe operation of the unit. We can also install extra take-off lines from the package for variable temperature systems, such as the Morning Foods project where we took a potable hot water line for the public health system, which was supplied with a temperature controlled outlet to the system.
